Focus on Patagonia

Why San Rafael Glacier?

  • Patagonia is one of the regions of the globe most affected by climate change.

  • The region's glaciers serve as "climate sentinels" for researchers because they are melting faster than elsewhere

  • The original people still live and watch over these lands

  • Locals continue to settle at the foot of the glacier, despite the risks associated with melting ice
